Zohreh Sarv transferred to solitary confinement in Qarchak Prison
Zohreh Sarv, a political prisoner, has been transferred to solitary confinement in Qarchak Prison, Varamin, for refusing to comply with mandatory hijab rules during a court appearance.

News Center- Zohreh Sarv, a political prisoner, was transferred to solitary confinement in Qarchak Prison on Monday for refusing to comply with mandatory hijab rules during the first hearing of the retrial against her.
According to reports, the first hearing of her retrial was held on Monday and she refused to comply with mandatory hijab rules. After the hearing, she was transferred back to Qarchak prison in Varamin and then to solitary confinement for 15 days. Following her transfer, Zohreh Sarv announced that she would go on a hunger strike in protest.
Zohreh Sarv was arrested on December 24, 2019 for her political activities on Instagram. She was then transferred to Evin prison. On January 11, 2020, she was transferred from Evin prison to Qarchak prison after being interrogated for more than two weeks.
She was sentenced to seven years in prison on charges of “assembly, collusion, and propaganda against the Islamic Republic”. After serving two and a half years in Qarchak prison in Varamin in 2021, she was released for only 45 days before being rearrested and transferred to Evin prison.
Following an Israeli attack on Evin prison on June 23, 2025, Zohreh Sarv was transferred to Qarchak prison along with dozens of other political prisoners.
On Tuesday, an Iranian court upheld her six-year prison sentence despite the Supreme Court accepting her request for a retrial.
