‘Hospitals in Gaza will become out of service within 3 hours’
All hospitals in the Gaza Strip will cease operations in the next three hours due to fuel shortages, Muhammad Abu Salmiya, director of al-Shifa Hospital, said in a press conference on Wednesday.

News Center- Israel has attacked the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, killing, injuring and displacing thousands. At least 105 Palestinians were killed and 530 others injured in Israel’s attacks on the Gaza Strip in the last 24 hours.
All hospitals in the Gaza Strip, including Al-Shifa Medical Complex, will cease operations within the next three hours if fuel is not made available, Muhammad Abu Salmiya, director of al-Shifa Hospital, said in a press conference on Wednesday.
“We are facing the imminent collapse of the healthcare system, and we have no alternatives if Al-Shifa Hospital stops functioning.”
If fuel is not made available in the next few hours, the intensive care units, neonatal units, and dialysis centers will completely shut down, putting the lives of hundreds of patients at risk, including around 100 premature babies, 13 patients in intensive care, and 350 kidney failure patients who rely on regular dialysis sessions to stay alive, Muhammad Abu Salmiya warned, adding that oxygen stations, laboratories, and blood banks would also stop working, turning hospitals into “mass graves” due to the fuel shortage.
More than 50,000 pregnant and breastfeeding women facing severe hunger
Up to 50,000 pregnant and breastfeeding women in the Gaza Strip are facing severe hunger, with devastating consequences for newborns, the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) warned on Tuesday.
These women “haven’t eaten for days”, and babies “are born too soon, too small,” the UNFPA said in a post on social media platform X.
