‘Turkey must be held accountable for massacres in Paris’

Kongra Star issued a writing statement to mark the first anniversary of the killing of three Kurdish people in Paris. “Turkey must be held accountable for the massacres in Paris,” the statement said.

News Center- On December 23, 2022, Emine Kara (Evîn Goyî), artist Mir Perwer (Mehmet Şirin Aydın) and patriot Abdullah Kızıl were killed in a gun attack carried out on the Ahmet Kaya Kurdish Cultural Center in Paris. Kongra Star issued a writing statement on Friday to mark the first anniversary of the second Paris Massacre.

‘They made great efforts for peace and democracy’

The statement stressed that Evîn Goyî, Mir Perwer and Abdurrahman Kızıl had made great efforts for peace and democracy. “The French authorities have not revealed the perpetrators of the first massacre committed against Sakine Cansız (Sara), Fidan Doğan (Rojbîn) and Leyla Şaylemez (Ronahî) in Paris on January 9, 2013 and the second massacre that took place in Paris on December 23, 2022. The Turkish state committed these massacres with the support of NATO. These massacres are genocidal crimes against freedom and democracy.”

In the statement, Kongra Star commemorated all those who lost their lives while fighting for freedom and vowed to follow in their footsteps to achieve freedom, democracy and peace.

Kongra Star also called on the French authorities to reveal the perpetrators of the massacres. “Turkey must be held accountable for the massacres in Paris. We call on women’s organizations, lawyers and all human rights defenders to take a strong stance.”
