Kurdish activist Verishe Moradi held in pre-trial detention in Iran for more than 4 months

Verishe Moradi, a member of the East Kurdistan Free Women Society (KJAR), has been held in pre-trial detention in Evin prison for more than four months.

News Center- Verishe Moradi, a women’s rights defender and member of the East Kurdistan Free Women Society (KJAR was arrested and taken to an unknown location by the members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in Sanandaj on August 1, 2023. Her family members and women activists received no information about her for a long time, she was reportedly transferred to Ward 209 of Evin Prison.

She has been held in pre-trial detention in Evin prison for more than four months. According to received reports, she has been deprived of her right to communicate with the outside world, health and counsel and she has been able to see his family only once in a short visit since she was transferred to Evin prison.

According to the local sources, Verishe Moradi was transferred first to the Sanandaj Intelligence Office after her arrest and she was coerced into a forced confession for two weeks at the Intelligence office.
