Student activist Armiva Pavir transferred to hospital

Armita Pavir, a student activist and one of the detainees of the “Jin, Jiyan, Azadi” (Women, Life, Freedom) movement, was transferred to Imam Reza Hospital in Tabriz on Sunday due to her deteriorating health condition.

News Center- Armita Pavir, a student of molecular biology at Madani University in Tabriz and one of the detainees of the “Jin, Jiyan, Azadi” (Women, Life Freedom) movement, has been on a hunger strike since November 3, 2023. According to the local reports, she was transferred from Tabriz prison to Imam Reza Hospital in Tabriz on Sunday due to her deteriorating health condition.

Armita Pavir went on a hunger strike on October 17, 2023 to protest the conditions in prison. She ended her hunger strike after the prison authorities promised to deal with her legal status and conditions of detention. On November 3, 2023, she went on a hunger strike again because her demands were not met.

 On October 31, 2022, Armita Pavir was taken into custody in front of Madani University of Tabriz and then temporarily released on bail of 250 million Iranian Toman on December 8, 2022. On June 28, 2023, she was held in detention for a couple of hours and then released after interrogation. On September 21, 2023, she was arrested again and transferred to the Tabriz prison.
