She protects woman running from her husband trying to kill her

A four-month pregnant young woman ran away from her house to avoid being killed by her husband in Gever. A mother seeing her running at night helped her by opening up her house.

The latest news on violence against women came from the Gever (Yüksekova) district of Hakkari province. A young woman, who married B.A. seven months ago, ran from home after being subjected to systematic violence by her husband. A woman seeing her losing her consciousness in the street took her to her house with the help of her children. After she regained consciousness, the woman called the family of the young women, “I did not trust neither the police nor the man's family. So I protected her,” the woman told NuJINHA.

She ran away from violence

The incident took place in the Dizel neighborhood of Gever. Four-month pregnant woman, who has been subjected to systematic violence by her husband, ran away from home last night after her husband attacked her with a sharp object. In the interview with NuJINHA, the victim of violence told us that she walked from her neighborhood to another neighborhood in order to protect herself and then she lost consciousness. After losing consciousness, a woman saw her from the window and took her to her home.

She will file a criminal complaint

Stating that B.A. had taken her mobile phone and ID card from her, the victim said that she called her family after regaining her consciousness. The victim told us she would file a criminal complaint against her husband when she felt safe.

“From the balcony, I saw the crying woman running down the street. Then she fell to the ground. I helped her with my children and took her to my home. At that moment, I did not think to call the police because if I had called the police, they would have sent her to her home. I called the family of the young woman and told them what had happened. I will protect the woman until her family comes,” the woman who helped the victim told us.
