Peyman Galvani, 24, a resident of Mahabad, was forcibly arrested by Iranian security forces at his family home in Mahabad on June 25. He was transferred to a hospital after being tortured in detention. He died at the hospital yesterday.

Last night, many protests took place across Mahabad. The people taking to the streets chanted anti-regime slogans despite the presence of numerous security forces.

During the protests, people accused the government of killing Peyman Galvani and strongly condemned the regime.
