Her plant physiology research gives information to people about plants

Dr. Sahar H. Rashid, who researches on plant physiology in Halabja, says Halabja has a rich nature containing medicinal plants and herbs. “A healthy society must be built.”

Halabja- Dr. Sahar H. Rashid, head of the Agricultural Management Department at Halabja Technical College of Applied Sciences, researches on plant physiology and gives information to people about the benefits of plants in nature.

Born in Halabja, Dr. Sahar H. Rashid lived in the city of Paveh, Eastern Kurdistan, for a while. Then, she studied at University of Kurdistan in Sanandaj and had a master's degree in plant physiology from Hamadan University of Medical Sciences. “I decided to study plant physiology because there are many healthy plants in the nature of Kurdistan. After getting my doctorate in 2018, I started working as a professor.”

‘More studies must be carried out on the riches of nature’

Dr. Sahar H. Rashid is the first female professor teaching plant physiology. “Halabja needs a professor and I am happy to serve my people. The education level of our society should increase. More studies must be carried out on the riches of nature in order to build a healthy society,” she told NuJINHA.

She wants to write a dictionary

Emphasizing that Halabja has a rich nature containing medicinal plants and herbs, she said, “Because of this richness, I study more about nature. I want to write a dictionary about plants. We should eat healthy foods and take care of our health.”
