Lida Alexani held in Evin prison more than two weeks without charge

Lida Alexani, an Armenian citizen living in Tehran, has been held in Evin prison without charge since April 12, 2025.

News Center- Lida Alexani, an Armenian citizen living in Tehran and the wife of an Iranian-Armenian pastor arrested by Ministry of Intelligence agents, has been held in Evin prison without charge for more than 17 days.

Lida Alexani (56), whose husband Joseph Shahbazian has been also held in Evin Prison since his re-arrest in February, was arrested by Ministry of Intelligence agents on 12 April, two days before the funeral of her husband’s mother.

Joseph Shahbazian’s mother, Jhasmen, passed away on April 9, 2025 and her funeral was held on April 14 in the absence of both her son and daughter-in-law.
