Former Iranian wrestling champion sentenced to one year in prison

Iran has sentenced Masoumeh Soleimani, former wrestling champion having a world bronze medal, to one year in prison on the charges of “incitement to commit violent acts on social media”.

News Center- Masoumeh Soleimani, former wrestling champion having a world bronze medal, has been sentenced to one year in prison on charges of “İncitement to commit violent acts on social media” by the 107th Branch of the Criminal Court of Khorramabad. If the sentence given to her is upheld by the Appeal Court of Lorestan, she will be arrested and sent to prison.

Masoumeh Soleimani was banned from sports for six months after returning from the World Wrestling Championships in February 2017.
