Families of prisoners issue statement in front of prison

On the 218th day of their Justice Watch, the families of prisoners issued a press statement in front of the Diyarbakır D-type Closed Prison.

 

Amed- Families of sick prisoners and the prisoners, who are not released from prison despite having completed their sentences, have been holding a Justice Watch for 205 days.

Today, the families of prisoners gathered in front of the Diyarbakır D-type Closed Prison to issue a press statement with the participation of the members of the Association of Assistance and Solidarity with Families Who Lost Their Relatives in the Cradle of Civilizations (MEBYA-DER), Med Federation of Associations for Legal Aid and Solidarity with Families of Arrestees and Convicts (MED TUHAD-FED), Association for Solidarity with Families of Arrestees (TUAY-DER), Democratic Regions Party (DBP) and Lawyers Association for Freedom (ÖHD).

“There is no justice”

Nazime Boltan, mother of seriously sick prisoner Civan Boltan, made a speech during the Justice Watch and said, “If there was justice, we would not have been seeking justice for eight months. So it means that there is no justice. Underling that the prisoners have been deprived of their rights, Nazime Boltan said, “The prisoners face pressure. The prisoners have not been released from prison despite having completed their sentences. All we want is the implementation of the law. Sick prisoners should be treated.”

“The state should implement its own laws”

İnci Güler, daughter of sick prisoner Abdullselam Güler, also made a speech and said, “The prisoners haven’t been released from prison despite having completed their sentences because they are Kurds. All political parties in the country are responsible for the current situation of the prisoners. Our demands are humanitarian demands. If the state implements its own laws, the prisoners will be released from prison.”
