News Center-The signatories of the statement called on the judiciary in Khuzestan to reconsider the verdict issued by the preliminary court against Forough Khosravi, stressing the need to ensure justice for her and respect the right of education.

The statement noted that the unprecedented 15-year prison sentence issued against Khosravi,a teacher from Behbahan, was merely the result of her written objections to the performance of the state radio and television authority, following the unlawful raid on her home under the pertext of a “12-day war”, the confiscation of her mobile phone, and the fabrication of a judicial case against her_while completely ignoring her defense.the ruling sparked profound shock and widespread sadness among social activists and advocares of justice.

The statement emphasized that such arbitrary and unlawful measure, under the pretext of”external threats” undermine the credibility of the judiciary, erode ethical values, contradict claims of “Islamic justice”, and increase public resentment and dissatisfaction among citizens.

The signatories—a group of teachers, educators, and civil activists—urged the Khuzestan judiciary to review the verdict issued by the primary court while preserving the legal and moral standing of the judicial institution. They stressed the importance of upholding the rule of law, protecting civil rights, safeguarding the dignity of educators, and strengthening social cohesion. They also called for creating the necessary conditions to acquit this dedicated and competent teacher.

1 year for “propaganda against the system,”

2 years for “insulting Khamenei,”

7 years for “insulting sacred values,” and

5 years for “communicating with media outlets linked to Israel,”
bringing the total to 15 years in prison.
