Al-Awda Hospital in Gaza runs out of supplies, food stocks

Al-Awda Hospital in the northern Gaza Strip runs out of fuel and critical medical supplies, and food stocks, the director of the hospital announced on Tuesday.

News Center- Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip have continued since October 7, 2023, killing at least 42,718 Palestinians and injuring 100,282 others.

Al-Awda Hospital in the northern Gaza Strip runs out of fuel and critical medical supplies, and food stocks, Dr Muhammad Saleha, director of the hospital announced on Tuesday.

Since October 21, the hospital has been surrounded by Israeli forces. “We are living under a complete siege. We are unable to leave or even approach the windows,” the director said.

“The fuel needed to operate vital departments is almost exhausted which could lead to a genuine catastrophe in the coming days if supplies are not urgently delivered,” said Muhammad Saleha, stressing that the ongoing Israeli attacks make it impossible for patients to reach or leave the hospital.

“The hospital is filled with patients, including women who have recently given birth and require postnatal care, needing urgent medical treatment. All are stuck inside the hospital and cannot not get out. I call on international organizations to put pressure on Israel to allow the entry of medicines, medical supplies, and food into the hospital.”
