HDP MPs protest Turkey’s withdrawal from Istanbul Convention during budget talks at parliament

Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) female MPs protested Turkey’s withdrawal from the Istanbul Convention during the budget talks of the Ministry of Family and Social Services at the parliament's Planning and Budget Committee.

Ankara- Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) female MPs held a protest during the 2022 budget talks of the Ministry of Family and Social Services at the parliament's Planning and Budget Committee.

The female MPs unfurled placards reading, “Istanbul Convention Saves Lives!” and “Implement Article 103 of the Turkish Penal Code, Law No. 6284”. The female MPs reacted to the speech of Derya Yanık, Minister of Family and Social Services, to not mention the Istanbul Convention and shouted, “Istanbul Convention saves lives”.
