CHP MP Sera Kadıgil resigns, joins left-wing party TİP

Republican People's Party (CHP) Istanbul MP Sera Kadıgil announced her resignation Friday and joined the left-wing Workers' Party of Turkey (Türkiye İşçi Partisi-TİP). “If I'm going to be in politics, I want to be in as who I am. Maybe some will say it is impossible but I persist in having a world without any exploitation and social class inequality,” she said.

News Center - Republican People's Party (CHP) Istanbul MP Sera Kadıgil held a press conference at the parliament and she announced her resignation. “As of today, I have resigned from my lovely home, from the party that has educated and brought me to this stage,” Sera Kadıgil said she would always stand side by side and shoulder to shoulder with the CHP members and supporters to protect Turkey from the darkness of the AKP even if she was not under the umbrella of the CHP.

“I take this step to not put a crimp in this struggle but to support the left-wing. I take this path for the benefit of all of us. You should know that I am doing what I believe for my country. I know that those who really know me will understand me.”

“I am joining the Workers' Party of Turkey”

Sera Kadıgil also announced that she joins the Workers' Party of Turkey. “I can proudly say that my readings on the gender inequality that I have faced and what the organized women's movement has taught us all make me a feminist. As of today, I am joining the Workers' Party of Turkey, which defends the values I believe in and tries to change the existing order completely.”
