News Center -78 heads of bar associations in Turkey have issued a joint press statement to mark the 10th anniversary of the signing of the Istanbul Convention. In the statement, the heads of bar associations across Turkey said that Turkey’s decision to withdraw from the Istanbul Convention will leave women unprotected and they called on authorities to annul the decision.

The withdrawal is completely unlawful, said the heads of the bar associations in the statement. “We respectfully announce that the Istanbul Convention is in force, that we don’t give up on the Istanbul Convention, and that we will keep struggling on the legal basis.”
