Amed - Selahat Bayram is a woman, who managed to turn her hobby into a business. She opened a workshop to work on wood painting. She becomes a role model for many women because she has her economic freedom. She produces to orders and her only goal is to improve herself and expand her business.

“My biggest supporter is my family”

Selahat opened her workshop about two years ago. She paints wooden objects using different colors. She began to paint wooden objects as a hobby. “I liked what I was doing. When people like what I painted, and gave orders, I decided to open a workshop. I wanted to stand on my own legs. Actually, I didn’t think to open a workshop at the beginning, I thought I could sell them at a district market. But then, I opened this workshop. My family supported me to open it. My biggest supporter is my family.”

Both business and hobby

“I buy different shapes of woods from a carpenter. I paint them according to the orders I receive and sell them. I want to improve myself in this field. Wood painting becomes both a business and a hobby for me.
