Yemeni women display their products at open bazaar

An open bazaar organized in Aden for young people to display and sell their products.

Yemen- On June 6, an open bazaar was organized in Yemen’s Aden city by the For All Foundation with the support of the United Nations Development Program and the Japanese government with the motto, “Today is my chance. Tomorrow is your chance.” Young women from Aden and Lahij governorate displayed their products at the bazaar.

“Women should be economically empowered”

Speaking to NuJINHA, Najat Jumaan, a professor at Sana'a University Faculty of Commerce and Economics, said, “I am pleased to attend and participate in this distinguished event supporting the projects of young men and women. I have seen many projects, most of them are women’s projects.”

Speaking about the importance of supporting small projects, she said, “For All Foundation supports women to display their projects at the bazaar. Women should be economically empowered.”

Photographer Wad Saeed, one of the participants in the bazaar, said, "I am a photographer and graphic designer. I display my work at this bazaar. I hope that I have been able to market my work well so that I can have other job opportunities.”

Hadiya Nasser, who participated in the bazaar from Lahij governorate, demanded that the projects of women and youth continue to be supported.

Nawal Al-Hamati, who displayed her pastries at the bazaar, told us that she would keep working to expand her project.
