News Center- Members of the Joint Action Platform of Women’s Movements and Organizations in North and East Syria gathered at the “Martyrs of 12 March” Stadium in the city of Qamishlo on Monday, announcing that they have launched a campaign to support women living in Syria’s coastal cities.

Emîne Omer, member of the Women's Coordination Office in North and East Syria, read a statement on behalf of all women’s movements and organizations in North and East Syria.

“The current regime, which gives opportunities to mercenaries such as Abu Amshad (Mohammad Hussein al-Jasim) and Abu Hatem Al-Shakra, who have committed grave crimes against civilians, is responsible for the massacres in Syria's coastal cities,” the statement said. “We condemn the massacres committed against civilians and we launch a campaign for women in Syria’s coastal cities with the motto, ‘Support for Syrian women is a key to stop massacres in coastal cities’.”

The statement also included a program. The program is as follows:

·An aid campaign will be launched for the victimized women in coastal cities.

· Signatures will be collected to make women's voices heard internationally.

·Letters will be sent to international organizations to stop the violations and massacres against women in Syria’s coastal cities.

·Demonstrations will be organized to protest the massacres committed against women.

·Women’s marches will be held to support women in Syria’s coastal cities.

·Theater performances and poetry readings will be organized to reflect the suffering of women in coastal cities.

·Workshops will be held to reflect the attitude of women against massacres and the drafted constitution.

·A social media #hashtag campaign will be launched on the last day of the campaign.

Call on all Syrian women to support

Emîne Omer called on all Syrian women to support women in coastal cities and the campaign “to unite our efforts to build an equal and just Syria”.
