Women doctors in Afghanistan have to pass ‘religious exam’ to work

Women doctors and nurses in Afghanistan’s Ghazni province are required to pass a religious exam to work.

News Center- The Department for the Propagation of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice in Afghanistan’s Ghazni province has issued an order requiring women doctors and nurses to obtain a permission letter from the department in order to continue to work. According to the issued order, the women doctors and nurses have to pay approximately 10,000 Afghanis in cash and pass a religious exam in order to get their license.

Previously, the Taliban had warned women doctors in the province that their clinics would be closed if they treated male patients.
