Amed (Diyarbakır)- Selahattin Umay, a village guard chief in the Ergani district of Amed (Diyarbakır), has seriously injured a woman namely E.U with whom he has an Islamic religious marriage. According to the received reports, the incident took place in the Yukarı Haydan village of Ergani last evening.  Selahattin Umay, the head of the village and the village guard chief, tried to kill E.U. with a sharp object. The couple’s 14-year-old child reportedly witnessed the incident.

The child namely M.U. took his father’s gun when he saw his father injured his mother and shot his father. Being seriously injured, Selahattin Umay and E.U. have been transferred to Diyarbakır Gazi Yaşargil Training and Research Hospital.

The 14-year-old child has been reportedly detained. An investigation has been launched into the incident.
