8 members of Peace Mothers’ Initiative detained in house raids
Eight members of the Peace Mothers’ Initiative have been detained in house raids conducted in Antalya on the grounds that they sent money to prisoners.
Antalya- Early Thursday morning, Turkish police raided many houses in Antalya as part of an investigation launched by the Antalya Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. Eight members of the Peace Mothers’ Initiative have been detained in house raids on charges of “financing a (terrorist) organization” for sending money to prisoners.
The names of eight detained members of the initiative are: Fatma Gün, Emine Tekmenuray, Zekiye Alak, Hülya Ayık, Hüzna Göksel, Ayşe Arslan, Valide Kaplan and Emine Arslan.
According to the received reports, the mothers have been taken to the Antalya Police Department and are expected to be transferred to the Antalya Courthouse today.
