Two Iranian journalists sentenced to 8 years and 4 months in prison

Iranian journalists Saeideh Shafiei and Nasim Beigi have been sentenced to eight years and four months in prison on charges of “propaganda against the state.”

News Center- The final hearing of the trial against Iranian journalists Saeideh Shafiei and Nasim Beigi was held by the Branch 26 of the Revolutionary Court of Tehran.

The two journalists have been sentenced to eight months in prison on charges of “propaganda against the state” and three years and seven months in prison on charges of “acting against national security”. The journalists have also been banned from travelling abroad and being members of political and social organizations for two years.

Journalist Mehrnoush Henzaki has been acquitted of all charges against her.
