Turkish soldiers and village guards cut down trees in Silopi

The Turkish state keeps cutting down trees in Kurdistan. In the Biliga village of Şırnak’s Silopi district, village guards have cut down thousands of trees under the supervision of soldiers.

News Center- Village guards have been cutting down trees in the Besta, Cudî, Gabar and Cilênimêja regions of Şırnak for months. The village of Biliga is one of the places where trees have been cut down by village guards under the supervision of soldiers.

Soldiers threatened villagers

 Thousands of trees have been cut down in the regions under the name of 'security'. When the villages reacted to the ongoing cutting down of trees, soldiers threatened the villagers. The villagers said that the soldiers told them, “If you cause problems, we will ban you from entering the village”.

In addition, village guards keep cutting down trees in the village of Hesana, an Assyrian village located at the foot of Mount Cudi in Silopi. The trees cut down in the village are transferred outside of the city by being loaded onto trucks.
