Turkey: 25 women die in suspicious circumstances in August
At least 28 women and five children were killed in Turkey in August, while another 25 women and seven children died under suspicious or unclear circumstances, JINNEWS reported.

News Center – A monthly report released Saturday, September 6, by JINNEWS highlighted the alarming scale of violence against women and children, underscoring an urgent need for legal and societal action.
The data showed most perpetrators were from the victims’ close circles: 12 women were killed by their husbands, three by their partners, two by their sons, and one by her employer. Another was killed by her ex-husband, while four were murdered by individuals with unspecified ties. Four women were in divorce proceedings at the time of their killings.
Cases were reported across multiple provinces, including Istanbul, Ankara, Isparta, Gaziantep, Kocaeli, Konya, Ağrı, Mersin, Kayseri, and Edirne, among others.
JINNEWS stressed that the rising toll reflects a worsening crisis of femicide and violence against women in Turkey, with many cases still shrouded in uncertainty and lack of accountability.
