TAJÊ hold its annual meeting

The Yazidi Free Women's Movement (TAJÊ) held its annual meeting, emphasizing that they will grow the struggle in 2024 to break the isolation imposed on Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan and prevent attacks on the Yazidi people.

News Center- The Yazidi Free Women's Movement (Kurdish: Tevgera Azadiya Jinên Êzîdî-TAJÊ) held its annual meeting in Shengal (Sinjar) with the participation of its members and the members. At the meeting, women discussed their activities in 2023 and determined a road map for 2024.

At the meeting, the participants emphasized that they would grow the struggle in 2024 to break the isolation imposed on Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan and prevent attacks on Yazidi people. The decisions made by the women at the meeting are as follows:

“*All families in Shengal will be visited to discuss the isolation imposed on leader Apo and his ideology. A letter will be written to the CPT regarding the isolation imposed on him. A tent protest will be held to demand freedom of leader Öcalan and a workshop about leader Öcalan will be held in February.

*Educational programs will be developed for women and academies will be opened for them.

*Educational programs will be developed for men in order to achieve equality.

*Women’s Asayish (security) units will be formed.

* The Arab Women's Council will be officially declared.

*Women’s conferences will be held in Shengal and across Iraq to mark the anniversary of the genocide committed against the Yazidi community.

*Committees will be formed to investigate femicide and suicide deaths among women.

*The policy of the KDP that promotes prostitution will be exposed through the press and social media platforms.

*A 10-day training about diplomacy will be held in February.

*A women’s initiative will be established in Iraq on the anniversary of the genocide.

*Letters about the genocide will be sent to international organizations and powers.

*Campaigns will be launched in March against femicide.

*A commission will be formed to draft women’s laws.

*Activities will be held to send a delegation to Germany and Russia.

*Literacy courses will be organized for women.”
