Sit-in protest for justice continues on its 779th day

Emine Şenyaşar and her son Ferit Şenyaşar have been holding a sit-in protest in front of the Urfa Courthouse demanding justice for their murdered relative for 779 days.

Riha (Urfa) - The sit-in protest held in front of the Urfa Courthouse by Emine Şenyaşar, whose husband and two sons were murdered in the attack carried out by the relatives and bodyguards of AKP Urfa MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız in Pirsûs (Turkish: Suruç) district of Urfa province on June 14, 2018, and her son Ferit Şenyaşar has entered its 779th day.

In the morning, Emine Şenyaşar and her son Ferit Şenyaşar came in front of the courthouse from their home in Pirsûs to seek justice again by unfurling their banner reading, “Justice for the Şenyaşar family”.

Today’s social media post of the Şenyaşar family points to the demand of Rojda Şenyaşar, 5-year-old daughter of Fadıl Şenyaşar, who has been kept in a solitary cell for years.

“Good morning everyone, rojbaş. Rojda demands something from her elders: JUSTICE. On May 14, the presidential decrees will go, justice will come,” said the social media post.
