Sister of Mostafa Karim Beigi expelled from university
Maryam Karim Beigi, sister of Mostafa Karim Beigi who was killed during the 2009 uprisings, learned yesterday (Sunday) that she has been expelled from the Islamic Azad University.
News Center- Maryam Karim Beigi, sister of Mostafa Karim Beigi who was killed during the 2009 uprisings a postgraduate student at the sociology department of the Islamic Azad University in Tehran, has been reportedly expelled from the university.
Yesterday, Maryam Karim Beigi announced that she received a call from the university and was told that she has been expelled from the university. In February, Iranian security officials raided the house of Maryam Karim Beigi and her belongings were confiscated.
“What is my guilt except following the case of my brother, who was killed?”
After Maryam Karim Beigi was informed by the university, she asked, “What is my guilt except for following the case of my brother, who was killed?” Narges Mohammadi, a jailed Iranian human rights activist, made a statement about the expulsion of Maryam Karim Beigi from the university. “Be the voice of Maryam Karim Beigi’s protest. Today, our voice, support, and resistance will strengthen her,” she says in the statement.
