News Center_The need to strengthen the protection of women journalists in work environments is growing, amid rising levels of pressures and threats they face, along with professional and security challenges that require effective measures to ensure their safety and the continuation of their role in free media.

A seminar titled “Protection of Women Journalists and Strengthening Solidarity Among Them” was held today, Saturday, August 22, in Sulaymaniyah, Kurdistan Region, on the occasion of the second anniversary of the deaths of journalists Kilistan Tara and Hero Bahadin, attended by women journalists, members of the families of the two martyrs, and their friends.

Lawyer Payman Ezzeddin, journalist and academic Sara Qader, and journalist Sinur Al-Rahman presented presentations that addressed the reality of women journalists' representation in media institutions in the Kurdistan Region, in addition to assessing the professional challenges they face and exploring possible legal solutions.

The committee emphasized the importance of providing a safe work environment for women journalists and strengthening solidarity mechanisms in the face of pressures and threats, to ensure the continuation of their role in free media.
