RJAK: We should struggle together to stop femicide

Kurdistan Free Women's Movement (RJAK) calls for joint struggle to stop femicide.

News Center - The Kurdistan Free Women's Movement (Rêxistina Jinên Azad ên Kurdistanê-RJAK) issued a statement at the Qelat Şêrwan Park located in Kalar city, Kurdistan Region, against gender-based violence and femicide.

Suham Germiyan, a member of RJAK, read the statement on behalf of the women. Stating that violence against women is violence against the whole of society, Suham Germiyan drew attention to the killing of women in the name of honor.

“Women are killed and treated as property of men. The power and history of women are denied. The process that we, as women, go through is the most dangerous process faced by women. The killing of women is the killing of society. We call on the government to end its policy that does not serve women, our society and country. We should struggle together to combat violence against women and femicide,” she said in the statement.
