Release of Jiyan Ateş suspended again

The release of Jiyan Ateş, who has been held in Sincan Women’s Closed Prison in Ankara despite having completed her sentence, has been suspended for the fifth time by the Prison Administrative and Observation Board.

News Center- Jiyan Ateş, who has been held in Sincan Women’s Closed prison in Ankara, has not been released from prison despite having completed her sentence on October 27, 2021. Her release has been postponed many times by the Prison Administrative and Observation Board for various reasons.

 Last week, the Prison Administrative and Observation Board suspended her release for six more months. Her sister Pınar Ateş announced that her sister was not released from prison because she said that she did not regret.

Jiyan Ateş was sentenced to 12 years and nine months in prison on charges of “membership in a terrorist organization”. She has been held in prison for 11 years and six months.
