Program for old people: Foster families
The Ministry of Women, Family, Children and Seniors (MFFES) has announced a family placement program for old people, who lost their families or have no family bond.

In the statement, the ministry draws attention to the importance of the family placement program for old people to find alternative families, who will provide a home environment for old people and take care of them to ensure psychological and physical stability of the old people.
Amel Belhadj Moussa, the Minister of Women, Family, Children, and Seniors, has announced that the ministry has allocated funds for the program and will send funds to the regional authorities in April to implement this program in their regions. The ministry will pay 200 Tunisian Dinars monthly to families to care for elderly people in order to encourage their participation in the program. The ministry aims to support 170 elderly men and women across the country at the end of this year.
The population aged 60+ years for Tunisia is expected to be 17% of the population in 2029 and nearly 30% in 2034.
