Political prisoner Shakila Monfared, who demanded to receive treatment at home due to her deteriorating health in prison, started a hunger strike on April 10 (Sunday) after her demand was rejected.

News Center - Iranian jailed civil rights activist Shakila Monfared reportedly started a hunger strike in Qarchak prison on April 10 (Sunday) after her demand to receive treatment at home was rejected. She has suffered from pain in her stomach, kidney, and gallbladder.

28-year-old Shakila Monfared was arrested on August 31, 2020, while she was leaving her home. She was sentenced to six years in prison on charges of “propaganda activities against the system” and “insulting the sanctities of Islam”.
