News Center- In the morning, police raided a refugee camp in the town of Lavrio, Greece. More than 50 Kurdish refugees, including women and children, were forcibly removed from the camp and detained to be transferred to other camps.

The Greek government-affiliated press outlets reported the police raid on the camp against Kurdish refugees as a “gesture” to the Turkish state just before the NATO summit to be held in July.

 Protests will be held

After the police raid, the Democratic Kurdish Cultural Centre in Greece released a statement condemning the action of the Greek police and the Greek Ministry of Asylum and Migration and stated that they will make a detailed statement in the coming days. Today, Kurdish people will hold a protest in the Akadimia neighborhood of Athens at 5pm.
