“Peace and Democracy Award” granted to Şenyaşar family
Diyarbakır Medical Chamber has granted this year’s “Peace and Democracy Award” to Emine Şenyaşar and her son Ferit Şenyaşar on the 441st day of their sit-in protest.
Riha -The sit-in protest held in front of the Urfa Courthouse by Emine Şenyaşar, whose husband and two sons were killed in the attack carried out on June 14, 2018, in the Suruç district of Urfa province by the relatives and bodyguards of AKP Urfa MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız, and her son Ferit Şenyaşar, who survived the attack, has entered its 441st day.
The Human Rights, Peace and Democracy Award and Commemoration Ceremony will be organized tonight by the Istanbul Medical Chamber (İTO) in memory of Dr. Sevinç Özgüner. This year’s “Peace and Democracy Award” has been granted to Emine Şenyaşar and her son Ferit Şenyaşar. The family members went to Istanbul to receive the award.

“Today, we will be in Istanbul to attend the “Human Rights, Peace and Democracy Award and Commemoration Ceremony organized by the Istanbul Medical Chamber. We will keep saying #JusticeforŞenyaşarfamily and for everyone across Turkey until justice is delivered,” the Şenyaşar family posted today on their social media account.
