News Center- Journalist Pakhshan Azizi, a political prisoner who was sentenced to death on July 23, 2024, was reportedly taken to hospital from Evin prison on Wednesday.

According to the reports of press outlets in Rojhilat (Eastern Kurdistan or Iranian Kurdistan), the journalist was taken to hospital after doctors said that she needed to receive treatment in a hospital.

On September 23, the campaign group demanding the release of journalist Pakhshan Azizi announced that the journalist was denied medical care although she suffered from severe headaches.

 In August 2023, Pakhshan Azizi, a journalist and human rights activist, was arrested by Iranian security forces. On July 23, 2024, she was sentenced to death by the Islamic Revolutionary Court in Tehran on charges of “armed insurrection”.
