Nia Künzer appointed as sports director for German women's national football team

Nia Künzer has been appointed as the new sport director for the German women's national football team by the German Football Association (DFB).

News Center- The German Football Association (DFB) announced the appointment of Nia Künzer, as the new sports director for the German women’s national football team on Thursday . Nia Künzer will serve as the sport director of the team as of January 1.

“Her critical eye, her ability to bring in other perspectives, her high level of social competence and her profound football knowledge will help us move forward in this high-priority area for the DFB," said Bernd Neuendorf, president of the DFB.

43-year-old Nia Künzer, retired German women's football player, was part of the German women's national football team at the 2003 World Cup. Her goal in the final match against Sweden made Germany the winner of the tournament with a result of 2-1. She played 34 times for the German national team and retired in 2008.
