Makhmour- Newroz was celebrated in the Martyr Rustem Cudi Camp (Makhmour Refugee Camp) on Tuesday.

Thousands participated in the Newroz celebration organized by the Culture and Art Center and started after a minute's silence in memory of those who lost their lives in the struggle for freedom.

 Ahmet Şehbaz, Co-chair of the People’s Assembly in Makhmour made the opening speech at the celebration, wishing that Newroz will be a holiday of peace and freedom. “Newroz is the light of the people against the dictators,” she said. “The fire of Newroz draws the dark curtain, lights the darkness. Prisoners of freedom fan the fire of Newroz. We are grateful to them. We celebrate this Newroz together with leader Apo (Abdullah Öcalan) and all the people. This Newroz will be a day of peace for the people.

Thousands of people celebrated Newroz with great enthusiasm, dancing halay.
