New project in Tunisia for women agricultural workers
The “Faire” project aims to support the social and economic rights of women agricultural workers.
Tunisia - The Tunisian Ministry of Women, Family, Children and Seniors has started a project called “Faire” to support the social and economic rights of women working in agriculture.
The ministry held a meeting on May 23 and announced that the project has been started as part of a partnership agreement signed between the Ministry of Women, Family, Childhood and Seniors and the European Union in 2015 in order to promote gender equality.
The project will be implemented in Mahdia, Jendouba, Sfax, Sidi Bouzid and Kasserine with the support of the European Union and in cooperation of the Tunisian Ministry of Agriculture, Water Resources and Fisheries, the National Agronomic Institute of Tunisia, the Tunisian General Labor Union and the National Union of Tunisian Women (UNFT).
