Gaza- Donia Center for Gynecologic Oncology Research launched a breast cancer awareness campaign called “تصورتي (My vision)” six years ago in cooperation with 10 Arab countries under the sponsorship of many NGOs and women’s organizations in order to encourage breast cancer screenings.
On October 1, the center issued a statement to announce that the campaign, which was carried out as a national campaign in 2011, will be an international campaign.
Center provides many health services
Stating that about 2,000 women from the West Bank have participated in the campaign, Nafth Maslamani said, “We expect more women to participate in the campaign from other cities and countries. The mobile buses also provide many other health services such as ultrasounds, other imaging tests, and biopsies. These buses are important for early breast cancer detection.”
Change your eating habits
Underlining that eating unhealthy food can lead to being overweight or obese, which is a breast cancer risk factor, Nafth Maslamani said, “Canned meats and fast food should not be eaten. Instead of them, vegetables and fruits should be consumed. Exercising at least three times a week reduces the risk of breast cancer.”
“Mobile Mammography Buses”
“Our Mobile Mammography Buses provide free breast cancer screening in rural areas to women at age 40 or older,” Nafth Maslamani said, “Our aim is to raise breast cancer awareness.”
