Manbij- Many civilians were tortured and killed by ISIS in its attacks on North and East Syria, the killed people were buried in mass graves. Survivors of ISIS attacks have been looking for their missing relatives for years. Yesterday, a mass grave was discovered near the building of the Democratic Civil Administration in Manbij. Until now, 29 bodies, including female bodies, have been reportedly found in the mass grave.

An investigation has been launched

Municipality workers discovered the mass grave while they were working in cleaning a sewage sewer and reported the mass grave to the security forces. An investigation has been reportedly launched to identify the 29 bodies found in the mass grave.  

According to local sources, all bodies were found handcuffed and blindfolded and the people believe that the bodies were buried by ISIS. In 2014, ISIS took the control of Manbij and killed many people in the city and buried them in mass graves. Since the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) liberated the city from ISIS, many mass graves have been found in the city.

A committee has been formed

While the number of bodies found in the mass grave is increasing, a committee consisting of members of the Healthcare Commission and Forensic Pathology doctors has been reportedly formed by the Democratic Civil Administration.
