Many detained in house raids conducted in two cities

Many people, including the members of the HDP and the HDK, have been detained in the house raids conducted in Istanbul and Kırklareli.

News Center- Turkish police conducted dawn raids in Istanbul and Kırklareli. At least 20 people, including the members of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) and the Peoples’ Democratic Congress (HDK), have been taken into custody.

 The detained people have been taken to Istanbul Police Department. According to the received reports, the number of the detained people may be more. The names of some detained people are: HDK General Assembly member Umut Ezber, HDP Central Council member Cengiz Topbaşlı, Democratic Alevi Associations (DAD) co-chair Kadriye Doğan, Kurdish Studies Association Co-chair Eyüp Subaşı, HDP Pendik Co-chair Oya Aytekin, HDP Provincial Organization executives Çetin Aslanboğa and Mesut Fırat, HDP Ataşehir District Organization manager Halil Aksu, HDP Bakırköy Co-chair Gonca Yangöz and Mehmet Akçiçek, Bülent Yıldırım, Zaynel Azadi, Fikriye Sarıgöl, Burcu Demir, Fethiye Kızmaz, Behiye Demir, Hüseyin Avras, Baran Sümbül, Oktay Okşal and Behiye Duman.

Minister points detained people as a target

After the house raids, Turkey’s Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya pointed the detained politicians and representatives of NGOs as a target on his social media account, claiming that the detained people “aid a terrorist organization”.
