Hasakah- The Jineology Academy of North and East Syria held its second conference in the city of Hasakah, Jazira Canton of North and East Syria, between September 25-26 with the motto, “Women's Wisdom is Updated by Jineology”. In an interview with NuJINHA, Evîn Ehmed, member of the academy, talked about the importance of Jineology.

 ‘We want to build a new life’

Jineology has many purposes, Evîn Ehmed said, adding, “Jineology, women's science, also aims to change the patriarchal mindset that has been imposed on society for thousands of years. We want to build a new life by reexamining and interpreting history through Jineology because the history has been destroyed and ruined by the male-dominated system for thousands of years. Therefore, the Jineology Academy decided to reinterpret it.”

 It aims to break down gender stereotypes

The Jineology Academy has created a significant change in society, Evîn Ehmed noted. “Jineology aims to break down all the gender stereotypes that are generalized by the patriarchal mindset in society, to establish a new system so that women can know themselves and express themselves better and have a free life. Everyone knows that women's identity is ignored, and the aim of Jineology is to redefine and revive women's identity.”

As an academy, Jineology, women’s science, focuses on individuals, she stressed. “Eveyone knows that you cannot change your society without changing yourselves. You should first change yourselves to change your society. Education plays an important role in change. Our academy has strong staff because women’s science can be popularized in society by strong staff.”

 Evîn Ehmed recalled that the academy held its first conference in 2018. “At the first conference, many decisions were made and most of the decisions were implemented. The results of the first conference were discussed at the second conference. After the first conference, many Jineology centers and academies were opened in the region. This is a success for us because it shows that Jineology has practically fulfilled its responsibility. Building a democratic family model is one of the purposes of Jineology because families are fundamental building blocks of society and therefore a free society can be built when families are free.”

‘We want to define history well’

In her speech, Evîn Ehmed also commented on the impact of positivism on society. “We must build the Democratic Confederalism System against positivism. We must build a society based on the Democratic Confederalism System through the Jineology Academy against positivism and we must develop a stronger, better and faster theory.”

Jineology is a science that constantly renews itself, Evîn Ehmed said. “We want to publish brochures and books on power, history and women’s science. We want to define history well through Jineology. If we define history well, we can find solutions not only to the problems faced by women but also to the problems faced by men and society.”
