Iran sentences activist Gulala Watandoost to more than 6 years in prison

Gulala Watandoost, a Kurdish lawyer and women’s rights activist in Marivan, has been sentenced to six years, seven months and 20 days in prison.

 News Center- Gulala Watandoost, a Kurdish lawyer and women’s rights activist in Marivan, has been sentenced to six years, seven months and 20 days in prison by the first branch of the Revolutionary Court on charges of “propaganda against the regime”, “assembly and collusion against national security” and “membership in an illegal organization”.

On October 3, 2022, Gulala Watandoost was arrested by the Iranian security forces in Sanandaj. On October 19, 2022, she was temporarily released on bail.
