Riha– The sit-in protest staged in front of Urfa Courthouse by Emine Şenyaşar whose husband and two sons were killed in the attack carried out by the relatives and bodyguards of AKP MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız on June 14, 2018, and her son Ferit Şenyaşar, who survived the attack, has entered its 246th day.
On the 246th day of the sit-in protest, Emine Şenyaşar testified at Suruç District Police Department for allegedly “insulting police officers”. In her testimony, Emine Şenyaşar rejects all accusations against her and said, “I am looking for the killers of my children. But the one who always comes to the police station is me (not the killers).
What had happened on the 24th day of the sit-in protest?
On the 24th day of the sit-in protest, Emine Şenyaşar and her son Ferit Şenyaşar were forcibly taken out from the dooryard of the courthouse by police. When the Şenyaşar family resisted the police, the police tried to forcibly detain them. After the incident, Ferit Şenyaşar went to the courthouse to file a criminal complaint against the police officers. While there hasn’t been any development in the Şenyaşar family’s criminal complaint, the family learned that an investigation has been launched against them on charges of “insulting police officers”.
