2nd Extended Meeting of Rojava University Women's Council ends
Rojava University Women's Council held its 2nd Extended Meeting with the motto, “No science without women, we will develop science with the spirit of women's revolution”. At the meeting, the women promised to struggle for entering the science world against the patriarchal mentality.

Qamishlo - Rojava University Women's Council held its 2nd Extended Meeting with the motto, “No science without women, we will develop science with the spirit of women's revolution”. The meeting was held in Qamishlo with the participation of members of the YPJ, NE Syria Education and Training Committee, Kongreya Star, Jineology Academy, and Jineology Research Center, and the representatives of the Kobanî and Al-Sharq universities.
“Women paid a high price”
Rohan Mistefa, Co-Chair of the Committee of Universities in NE Syrian, spoke to our news agency about the meeting. “Women have been waging a great struggle in education and science as they have done in every part of life.”
Noting that women have been organizing themselves in every part of life after the Revolution in Rojava, Rohan Mistefa told us, “Women have kept struggling against the patriarchal mentality. Women paid a high price because they didn’t only fight against attacks but also the patriarchal mentality and traditions.”
“We will continue to work”
Rohan Mistefa said their meeting was successful meeting. “We will continue to work. The regulations were approved by women attending the meeting. Female teachers and students should form their own decision mechanisms in science because we value women’s opinions.”
“Women feel more successful”
The women participating in the meeting discussed many issues such as the emblems and logos of the departments of the universities, the educational content of lessons, and the visuals of the books. “Women feel more successful when they make decisions about themselves.”
The meeting is dedicated to working women
Roksan Mihemed, a member of the YPJ (Women's Defense Units), pointed out that the women's meeting was held with the ideas of Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan and the science of jineology. Rena Ebdulqadir, Co-chair of the Al-Sharq University, and Hena Dawûd, the Spokesperson of the Jineology Academy, also made speeches at the meeting. They dedicated the meeting to working women.
