German lawmakers recognize Yazidi genocide

German lawmakers have recognized the 2014 massacre against Yazidis by ISIS as a genocide.

On Thursday, German lawmakers recognized the practices committed by ISIS against Yazidi people in 2014 as a genocide.

“The recognition of the genocide is an essential step to overcome the traumas for the Yazidi community,” said Greens MP Max Lucks, highlighting the precarious situation faced by the survivors still living in Iraq. “A safe life, peace must be our ambition for the Yazidi community,” he added.
