Gaza- The Creative Women’s Association held a workshop in the Gaza Strip on June 6 with the motto, “Discussion on the suffering of women in the Gaza Strip and abroad”, with the participation of many Gazan women and an Italian delegation consisting of four women to exchange experiences.

“Social media does not reflect the truth”

“I am pleased to be in the Gaza Strip and to share our experiences with Palestinian women. The important thing for me is to see what is happening on the ground instead of learning from social media because social media does not reflect the truth,” said activist Chilea Viaco, one of the members of the delegation.

“We were able to deliver our messages to another country”

Refka Hamalawi, director of the Al Najd Development Forum, noted that they were able to deliver their messages to another country. “Women were able to share their experiences and make their voices heard. The Palestinian people demand safety, peace, and freedom because they can no longer bear the pressures, destruction, high rate of unemployment, poverty and the effects of the siege. As a NGO, we try to make their voices heard all around the world,” she told NuJINHA.

“Women have made great sacrifices”

Huda Alyan, a member of the Palestine Democratic Union (a Palestinian political party generally known as FIDA), said, “Palestinian women, particularly Gazan women, have made great sacrifices. Today, they shared their pain, fear, hope and experiences during the workshop. We hope that the attacks will end and that we have peace. We need security so that women can have a peaceful life.”
