Riha- The sit-in protest held in front of the Urfa Courthouse by Emine Şenyaşar, whose husband and two sons were murdered in the attack carried out by the relatives and bodyguards of AKP Urfa MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız in the Suruç district of Urfa province on June 14, 2018, and her son Ferit Şenyaşar has entered its 554th day. In the morning, Emine Şenyaşar and her son Ferit Şenyaşar came in front of the courthouse to demand justice again.

She will testify to the prosecution

Today, Emine Şenyaşar will testify to the prosecution for allegedly insulting AKP MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız on the 157th day of their sit-in protest. The first hearing of the insult trial against Emine Şenyaşar will be held at 11am by the Urfa 4th Criminal Court of First Instance.

Support visit to the Şenyaşar family

The Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Urfa Provincial Office executives and members of the Urfa Labor and Democracy Platform visited the Şenyaşar family before the hearing to support the struggle of the family.

“The mother faces the same persecution”

The Şenyaşar family posted a tweet today. “Bediüzzaman Said Nursi spent his life in court and prison. The persecution against him went down in history. Now, the mother (Emine Şenyaşar) faces the same persecution. The hearing of the insult trial against the mother is today at 11am.”
