News Center- Turkey's Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) has announced that the death toll in earthquakes that have affected Mereş (Maraş), Dîlok (Antep), Riha (Urfa), Amed (Diyarbakır), Adana, Semsûr (Adıyaman), Osmaniye, Hatay, Kilis, Meletî (Malatya) and Elezîz (Elazığ) has risen to 36,187.

15 people arrested in Amed

39 people were taken into custody in Amed as part of an investigation launched by the Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor's Office into the death of 394 people in collapsed buildings. While 22 of the detained people have been released under judicial control, 15 have been sent to prison.

In Amed, 23 buildings collapsed and 394 people lost their lives in the collapsed buildings. According to claims, 20 people are still trapped in the rubble of the Diyar Galeria Business Center located in Amed’s Yenişehir district.

 Pervin Buldan will go to Pazarcık

Yesterday, a trustee was appointed to the Hasankoca Aid Center, where the humanitarian aid and relief supplies sent by the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP), non-governmental organizations and local associations to be in solidarity with the earthquake victims is collected in the Bazarcix (Pazarcık) district of Maraş, the center of the earthquake. Despite the obstacles, the HDP, NGOs and local associations keep reaching the earthquake survivors.

HDP Co-chair Pervin Buldan will go to Pazarcık after visiting Dîlok and İslahiye today. A delegation consisting of Pervin Buldan, HDP Spokesperson Ebru Günay, HDP Women’s Council Spokesperson Ayşe Acar Başaran, HDP MPs, volunteers and members of the Crisis Coordination Center will participate in aid distribution efforts in Pazarcık.

The ‘My home is your home’ campaign

The HDP has launched a campaign in Amed with the motto, “My home is your home”. The party calls on the people of Amed to open their door to earthquake victims and to strengthen the solidarity network against alarming rent hikes in the city.
